Friday Fun

It's Friday - Hooray!

K had fun doing this math activity today...placing the right number of buttons below each number 0-10. She wanted to have the colors match for each number until we got to 10...She begged for a picture of her completed project before we put them away. :o) She went on to complete the page in her Earlybird book - counting objects and writing the number, then circling another group that had one MORE object than the first group. She wasn't fooled. :o)

D worked on division again today and we used small cups to be "ice cream sundaes" complete with real chocolate chips to be our topping to divide. I'm glad he's introduced to this concept in a fun, gentle way. This is his illustration to go with his poem for Unit 5 in Beyond, Song for a Little House. He does a great job of listening to the poem and incorporating specific objects in his illustration.
To go along with his History reading today, D had to find the oceans on the globe again. He found them all and remembered doing it a few weeks ago! He's enjoying listening to the history stories of the pilgrim kids in Holland. Oh, if only our homeschool budget afforded us to travel the globe. We'd be there this weekend! ;o)
