pegs & sunglasses & pretzels

We schooled in the morning today as we had a few other things that were happening this afternoon. C surprised me and actually did quite well! She had fun with these chunky pegs (garage-sale find this summer). She puts them in the holes in the foam pieces but will also stack them. She normally stacks about 8 before the tower falls!

Drew began learning basic division today. I like how Singapore just introduces it, it doesn't require him to master all the facts (yet). :o) His first "problem" was to divide 16 pretzels between 4 friends (he chose to use his Sonic characters). He told me he knew 8+8=16 and half of 8 is 4, so each character received 4 pretzels.

The kids found the sunglasses from the dress-up tub...

Kate did a coin rubbing to go along with her Bible story about Joseph being sold by his brothers...
She loved her math page today because she had to count the objects, write the number (she wrote the number "7" all by herself!) and then circle the set that had the same number of objects.
She completed Lesson 25 in 100 Easy Lessons today! We're 1/4 of the way through the book and her stories each day are gradually getting longer! She is recognizing "the, is & a" along with "cat!" It's so much fun listening to her read and she's doing well comprehending the stories she's reading!
Using Wikki Stix to make her numbers...
