The kids enjoyed another day of Legos & the Poky Puppy learning activities, along with their usual math & reading. I'm so thankful for others who post the lapbooks/resources for FREE! It makes my planning so much easier.
D learned about Lego manufacturing today by watching a video. He was bummed the one link on the Lego site didn't work (it was an animated manufacturing video). But the one he did watch kept his attention and he especially enjoyed seeing the Lego minifigs in production. He was excited when he heard "Denmark" in the video as he knows where it is and a little bit about why it's on the Lego boxes & mentioned in the video.
He also watched this really neat video of what someone did with Legos...I'm amazed! I could see the wheels turning in his head. :o)
He did his writing today (copying a quote from Thomas Edison) without too much complaining!
K listened to the Poky Little Puppy book again. Then we reviewed her Bible verse (Eph 6:1) and she made a cute little 5 senses book. For the book, she cut out clip art to match what the puppy saw, touched, heard, tasted & smelled in the book. She also cut out pictures of what she sees, touches, hears, tastes & smells in her world. I'll have pictures of that when I show her completed lapbook on Friday's post. :o)
She also colored her lapbook cover page (a blank/white coloring sheet of the front of the book). The coloring began well, but ended with lots of scribbles - pic coming on Friday!
