It's been hard to focus on getting our work done when the weather is gorgeous and they want to spend the day outside, but we've kept at it - schooling mostly in the afternoons when C naps now! :o)
For Thinking Skills the past few days, D has had to make predictions (finish stories). Below is the picture of the end of the story about a boy and his dad painting a bench that said he was tired when he finished. I thought it was cute D made the boy sleeping on the "wet" bench with the paint roller & tray below the bench. He's so detailed in his pictures!
D reading The Bears on Hemlock Mountain aloud...
K drawing fire like the flames over the heads of those who were in the room when the Holy Spirit was sent after Jesus went back to Heaven...
Wednesday afternoon after our school time, the kids worked hard on their Grandma/Nana projects for this weekend which began by painting a clay pot. They each did their own and had fun...I'm not posting the finished gifts for obvious reasons. :o)
D learned earned what things dissolve/don't dissolve in water. We used salt first, then white sugar (both dissolved obviously) and then cornmeal (the glass K is stirring below). They were amazed to see the cornmeal do what sand does in water. They had just had water in their outside sand table two days ago.
