To go along with K's Bible story today (Peter being freed from jail), she twisted aluminum foil to be jail bars and helped draw an angel (white paper in center). The view of the artwork is as if we were Peter inside the bars...
For Math & Phonics today we did a non-HOD activity. We had gotten this book from the library and Drew had been asking to read it. We finally remembered to do it today!
Drew read through the book aloud and completed the activities on each page learning basic map skills. At the end he was asked to draw a map on graph paper of his room complete with furniture.
We went upstairs and he walked off the length of each wall and all his furniture. Then we went back downstairs to the school table and he counted each square (= 1 page) for the length of everything. He loved using the ruler to connect the marks and make his lines straight!
His completed map...
Completed map with title...
Drew's devotional today talked a little about baptism so we had a brief talk about it. He told me he understands what it means but that he's not ready to do it yet...doesn't want to get his clothes wet because he doesn't like wearing wet clothes. (Which is so true of him but I hadn't ever thought about this!) I assured him whenever he wants to be baptized, he could probably wear his swim trunks with a t-shirt. :o)
